THIS PACIFIC BLUE
This is my favourite colour. The colour the water now is... I couldn't happily say that my favourite colour is just 'blue' because it isn't, it is a shade of blue. This specific shade of blue. The blue the ocean makes whilst a 200, 000 (...or so) ton cruise ship creates whilst crashing upon each and every wave a storm is conjuring. This blue, although distinctly frightening, still seems quite beautiful and captivating. The blue, only a few people were able to witness and brave for this specific moment. Although the sun, slowly becoming engulfed by thick grey clouds, where the boat rocked, dipped, lunged and swayed even more, as much as I was so sure I could never travel by boat, let alone contently stand outside during a storm - I keep surprising myself day by day. Then only three days in of fourteen, I found it, that I was now having to fight off tempting thoughts from diving into the depths of THIS blue. I don't know what it was about it. I wasn't interested when exiting the Coast of Australia nor the shore of Auckland, New Zealand. But when the anchor sunk in the bay of Akaroa, the urges became overwhelming all over again. This image is one of many I intend to share from my planned and spontaneous journeys, home or away, ground vs. land. :)
